WiFi Connekt 13A 2-Gang Switched Socket with Ethernet + 2.0A USB Starter Kit is rated 3.7 out of 5 by 13.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Does not meet expectations I bought this product along with an extra double socket from the same manufacturer with a view to improve WiFi reception around a house, which has a large chimney in the middle which creates a significant obstruction to WiFi signals to any part of the house which is "behind" the chimney. Following the instructions, I set the system up to act as a repeater of the main SSID from my ISP's router. The setup went almost exactly the way it was supposed to with the exception of the extra socket, on which the indicator lights stayed red and would not go green even when I rebooted the socket using the suggested pressing of two of the buttons for 20 seconds. I did manage to sort that out after a phone call to the support team who recommended turning the mains power off and on again. I then had three sockets all broadcasting the same SSID as my main router but I could not get a good signal from them in a couple of the areas in the house, which I most needed the boosted signal. I tried changing the channel on which they were broadcasting having used a WiFi analyser application, which I had installed on a smart phone, which suggested a different channel. No matter what I did, I could not get the socket units to broadcast on the specified channel. They all just broadcast on whatever channel they felt like using and it seemed they would change channel frequently. In the end, they turned out to be causing too much interference with my main router broadcast so I turned off the WiFi option and left them simply offering the powerline option. I have managed to make use of that by connecting a television using a CAT5 network cable to one of them. In the end, I have a rather expensive set of sockets, which are really only useful now for the one powerline connection and, if the need arises, USB charging sockets. I daresay that a network Guru might be able to make them work, armed with a greater understanding of the tricks needed to get a good WiFi signal from them but I was unable to do so myself.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Connected Having had Ethernet connections all over the house using several old plug-in extenders, using up the available sockets. Fitting the WIFI CONNEKT kit and add-ons has improved connectivity and provided WiFi throughout the house and freed up loads of sockets which enabled removal of some extension leads as well. Brilliant Easily installed

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wifi Connekt Finally up and running and so far seems to be excellent. Dead spots in house now resolved. Did have problems setting the kit up via the instructions, after some frustration decided to give Group Gear a call. Spoke to Tom who explained that the set up via a Sky router is slightly different. Tom took the time to guide me through the set up and all is great. Only given 4 Stars for performance and reliability as not had in use long enough to give 5

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't waste your money I installed and tested these units extensively for weeks. I had their own engineers come out after they failed to resolve issue of speed. They would run at an abismal 2Mbit/s second from a 60Mbit/s router. After literally months of back and forth the engineers from GroupGear simply gave up and told me to return them. They blamed SKY for their router. I installed a repeater unit from BG, worked perfectly first time. In short, they DON'T WORK and it wasn't for lack of knowledge or trying. BG sockets were cheaper and worked first time with my SKY router.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very pleased Full connectivity throughout the house. Simple to fit and smart looking, great idea to have the handy USB ports. When I changed my server I had a reconnection issue which was not resolved by instruction manual nor YouTube, I called the technical number and they patiently guided me via another route, success, all up and running. Very pleased overall.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Daughters Distress I have 3 teenage daughters who on their return from university/school all become sofa hoggers as they cannot get WiFi or internet connection in their respective rooms. One of my friends recommended the WiFi Connekt sockets and even kindly installed them for me, one by my Sky router and one in each of my daughters bedrooms. It seemed like the perfect solution until once installed he had difficulties in setting up. Rather than waste his time I took the decision to contact the manufacturer, Group Gear. Now although I am computer literate being hit with phrases such as; “I have an IP conflict” and “I need to ensure all devices are on the same IP schemer”, go even beyond me. I thought I was heading for another technological disaster and I could feel a complete meltdown coming on. However, Tom my geru technician, who must have the patience of Job, jovially guided me through the installation process quite literally step-by-step-by-step. Within 10/15 minutes I had apparently managed to setup my WiFi sockets and to my surprise/delight I can now get WiFi in each of my daughters bedrooms. They now spend their time happily doing whatever teenagers do on the internet and the best part is I got my sofa back. A big thank you to Tom who was brilliant!!!! Sofahogger

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Doesn't work! I was hoping this would look nice in my lounge but it sticks out from the wall a lot. I didnt mind too much as long as it would work but it doesn't. It keeps disconnecting and after 3 hours I gave up! Bought a cheaper portable plug that is faster and has wireless ac.
