Stanley 64R Steel Rule 300mm (12") is rated 3.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Picture is inaccurate The picture incorrectly shows a 15cm / 6in rule instead of a 30cm / 12 in one. It also shows it as being made in England. Please note the following comments are in comparison to my old 150cm/6in steel rule, which is still immaculate and was made by Rabone Chesterman, pre Stanley ownership. The one I purchased does not say that it's made in England, which means it probably isn't. It is made by Rabone, a brand now owned by Stanley. These are not as good as the ones of old. The metal marks easily with finger prints which is a minor issue but the older ones were made from a stainless steel that didn't mark as much. The metal used is also quite dull. My older one was made from a fairly shiny stainless steel. The biggest issue is the flimsiness of it. It is far more flexible than the old ones which were much more sturdy and stiff. I've looked for sturdy ones but they're all the same now so this is the best of a bad bunch. They are clearly made from a steel that has less tolerance and quality. On the positive side, the markings are well stamped and very clear, even down to half a mm or a 64th/inch. I'd recommend this product as the other ones are worse but it's not half as good as what it used to be.
