Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just the job Bought as a solution to wire up a pair or outdoor lights that had stopped working due to the inbuilt photocells failing. I wired this uk to trigger the lights and following the wiring instructions it worked perfectly. I would have expected it to include a rubber gromit at the base which I have added myself, but all in all, it has worked as expected and would recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Effective solution Wanted to switch outside lights on but not with pir as to much nuisance switching often got home and forgot to switch outside lights on before leaving house when it was still light Very effective solution

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Needed a replacement The only thing I wish manufacturers would do is just allow customers to purchase the sensor without the base plate unit, which I presume would be cheaper than buying the whole thing.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Looks Good Works Fine The unit looks the part, and yet my impression of the bracket that attaches it to the wall is that the engineering is "on the edge." That is not to say it is rubbish, just that any lighter and it would not enjoy the "breeze" in the site. Out of the box it is straightforward to install: two screws and it is on the wall, wires up through the gland (Aah, there isn't one in the pack, so lucky we all have them eh?), attach them to the screw terminals per the neat instructions (so simple you will never need them again), and wait for dark! Defo use them again, ideal with LED lights.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect replacement The PE Cell was just the job,it fitted perfectly and was an ideal replacement for my existing one.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not good We’ve just installed one of these and as stated the box does not include the necessary parts for installing outside. It doesn’t contain any gromits. On initial installation, as per instructions, the lights came on for 10 seconds and then go off. Indicating the sensor was set. All seemed ok and at dusk we turned the lights on and they came on as expected. However on testing the sensor in daylight (in direct sunlight 16:00hrs) the attached lights come on and stay on! I think it would help if the sensor had some sort of sensitivity adjustment. But if I can’t reset the sensor I will be returning it to screwfix.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LED or not LED After a recent break in I have wired two of these photocells individually to two sets of 3 bulkhead fittings which each have a 6w led bulb in ie 18w total load on each photocell. Due to the uncertainty of their suitability I contacted the manufacturer (not the distributor) Lucy Zodion on 01422317337 and was told by sales that using leds as against incandescent lamps reduces their maximum rating down to 250w as against 500w with no suggestion of a minimum load. It would seem there are a few crossed wires here, it was easy to find the manufacturer as well as the supplier in the enclosed instructions. I have encountered no problems to date and one phone call has given me peace of mind.
