Spring Steel Fish Tape is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 32.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Quailty Brilliant and easy to use. Easy and fast to unwind and wind up, doesn't bind up like cheap versions.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not ideal The tape eventually did the job which was fishing an Ethernet cable thru a lowered ceiling from one corner to another. However I did find this tape too “bendy”, after letting out a couple of metres it is impossible to steer with any great degree of accuracy to avoid obstacles, so I could perhaps only possibly recommend it for use in trunking, conduits, ducts etc. or where you can rely on gravity to work in your favour and where guidance is not such an issue. I probably should have used cable rods but my brother had borrowed my set. Anyway this was not the problem, this occurred when I was rewinding the tape in again and the black ring on the holder came off in my hand. There was no undue pressure used but I did not think the reeling in process was as smooth as it could be. Perhaps the tape should be greased after use before winding in? I returned the item to Screwfix and got a no quibble replacement as they had another in stock. In view of all the other glowing reviews I am hoping I got the only bad one in the box and my new one holds together. I’ll keep you advised and update my review as and when I've used the new one a few times.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic bit of kit Rarely have I been so keen to leave a review! After faffing for an hour and a half last night trying unsuccessfully to get a cable down some rubbish ducting I ordered this. Whole job took less than 5 mins. Brilliant tool, can't believe I got to my age without having one of these in my toolbox!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Unstuck Fantastic product.... this is the 2nd one I’ve purchased the 1st one was over 5 years ago. I have used it day in and day out without a problem. Great bit of kit!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good product, does the job As described. Keep it oiled for ease of feeding. I used it in floor voids and gets through insulation ok as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Idea for home cable pulling Brilliant little tool for re wiring on your own at home, all you need really. Staff were very friendly and helpful + great value for money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from New Cable run to cabin Great product, rods wouldn't complete the job so decided to try this fish tape product. Worked perfectly first go, very restricted run with 2 water pipes and armoured electric cable to contend with. Steel tape is strong and was up to being pushed through 90 degree bends - pulled two new cables through fine.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Difficult job made easy This is my second one. First one got kinked and bent out of shape as my wife wanted to 'help'! Makes routing cables through cavities easy but just learn to feel the tape as it routes. Once mastered you will know if it is obstructed by brick ties or masonry or just a large clump of cavity insulation. Too ham fisted and it kinks. Overall happy with it and certainly makes cable runs easy.
