Self-Cutting Isolating Valve 15mm is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 29.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Instant drain for CH system I have read some bad reviews on this valve, but for first time users don't be concerned about this. I used one to create a drain point in the CH system as there wasn't one. A couple of things to mention here. 1. Look at the rubber seal before fitting and make sure that the concave shape in the seal is at 90 deg to the "V" of the clamp so it fits nicely onto the pipe when the clamp is fitted. Mine was supplied misaligned. It is easily moved. 2. Make sure this is fitted on a clean, straight, undammaged section of pipe. No dents, no paint or scratches. I used very fine wire wool to rub the pipe smooth, which is available from screwfix. 3. Make sure the cutter is screwed out below the level of the seal before fitting the clamp so the seal seats before the cutter presses into the pipe. 4. When screwing in the cutter take your time. You can feel when the cutter pushes through the first wall of pipe, and a couple of turns after that is enough. 5. There are different items similar to this that are specifically designed to make washing machine taps. Also available from Screwfix.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from first time used worked very well though I struggled a bit with the rubber washer blocking the flow, resoled with a bit of tinkering

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Plum Bought to put extra radiator on to system without draining it down and having to replace inhibitor worked well easy to use fitted and plumbed radiator in 15 minutes

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not for washing machines Impossible to hand-tighten as suggested by instructions. No indication of how far to tighten thread. Wrong thread for washing machine or dishwasher hoses - fortunately found an adaptor.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Useful when in a pinch I should start by pointing out that the bore of this is only around 4 or 5mm; if you're planning on using this for a washing-machine feed or similar, then I would recommend instead that you bite the bullet and get it plumbed in properly. Where this is extremely useful is when draining down pipes that are either air-locked or can't be drained normally for one reason or another. Goes on easily enough with a screwdriver, then wind in with an adjustable spanner. All done, now open 'er up and let 'er flow!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Save Money + Time!!! I bought this product as in the house ive just moved to there is no radiator drain off valve and I was changing a radiator. Rather than soaking me and the wall I just used this product. Brilliant product, very easy to use, adds a isolation valve and I just added a 1.5m extension hose on the end and straight out the door rather that soaking the kitchen floor!!
