Scheppach BGS700 150mm Grinder / Linisher 230V is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 12.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Impressed After researching other brands I found this one to be the best value for money. I've used it quite a few times to sharpen drill bits and sand off burs when fabricating metal & wood. It's silent and doesn't vibrate, I recommend this for the DIY hobbyist

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality kit ! Was initially a bit wary as I'd used "Click and collect" the box the lovely lady in Torry handed over had a bash and had patently been opened and re-sealed. Took it back to the 'shop and opened it, not a mark on it ! Assembly with an occasional squint at the assembled pictures for guidance took less than 10 minutes. It's well thought out assembly wise, interlocks on fitted parts. In operation, it's smooth, relatively quiet and remarkably well balanced. Comes fitted with decent quality intermediate stone and belt. Top tip, sort out extraction, Linishers are dust monsters. Amazingly nice bit of kit for the money.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from disappointing Following great reviews I bought this unit, with intention of using it to sharpen mower blades, and some other occasional use - no heavy duty plans. Grinding stone works just fine, hence value at 3 stars... And features at 5 stars, as it WOULD have been great, IF it worked.... Overall rating at one star, as 2 weeks after purchase it went back to local store, purely product rating... As always, if there were rating stars for customers service, local staff where I'm based would always get 5/5! Performance and reliability at 1 star as unfortunately the belt tensioning and positioning mechanism seemed not fit for purpose, at least on the unit I got... To put it practical perspective: Step 1 - I'm taking my time to set the belt running in centred position. Made sure everything is secured, locked, so bolts don't come loose due to vibration. Belt runs as it should. However it runs without me working on it with anything.... Initial set-up, say 5mins. Step 2 - Starting to work with anything on the belt, and 10 to 30 seconds later the belt moves to either side of guard, catching on it, causing the motor to stop, as the belt instantly catches on the guard with so much force... Step 3 - pretty much back to step 1.... Seems working on anything with the belt gets the belt out of position so badly that the mechanism just can not cope... Possibly grinding stone and disc sander combo would be a safer pair..

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Grinder Fantastic grinder for the price - only criticism is that I would like to be able to adjust the angle of the belt and perhaps have a larger platform on which to rest the work piece.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tool Sharpening Great bit of kit, a couple of same niggles there's a phillips headed screw that needs loosening to change the belt this in MHO would be better as a knob so I will probably do this myself. Also the knob for the belt tensioner is a bit close to the belt alinement knob making it a bit difficult to tighten up. Apart from this a good bit of kit you can get a superb finish off a 320 belt for sharpening chisels and planes!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great for the price Well pleased with grinder linisher. as a diy tool this is great, sharpen tools ,on the grinder, form wood on the linisher. A little slow for grinding but wonderfully smooth and quiet.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Bench grinder / linisher Seems ok, not as quiet as described. Manual could be better, but, it is foriegn. One bit there was no mention of I am told is for dressing the wheel, not sure how that will go when needed. It would be better to ask for reviews after a couple of months, not next day as you just do not know how it will perform then.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Value for Money Lots of great features for a very good price. A useful bit of kit - I wish I'd bought one years ago! Time will tell how reliable it is.
