Salamander Pumps HomeBoost HB Booster Mains Water Boosting Pump 1.6bar is rated 3.9 out of 5 by 19.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does what it says - perfectly. Installed for a client with low pressure off a group water scheme. Worked perfectly and solved the problem of poor shower pressure upstairs. Resolved small issue of pressure reduction when kitchen tap was used at the same time as the shower by reducing flow out of the sink tap with the penny valve, this effectively balanced the system. Its a pump - it makes a noise but its not intrusive. Supported weight with metal strap. Wouldnt hesitate to use it again

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very happy As we have pretty poor water pressure here circa 6l per min I was looking for a pump to improve the pressure on our Combi shower. After some research and googling I purchased the Salamander IBoost pump. Very happy with pump so far and its nice and quiet and shower is now performing as it should, lovely. Time will tell just how reliable it is and for the high cost I would expect it to last many years. I had read it could be installed in an hour but as it didn't come with any fittings and I'm not a plumber I spent best part of a day trying to get the connections a real pain, please consider including them or at least the pump connections anyway. First time using Screwfix and part arrived very quickly so I'll definitely use them again.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from good performance Happy with the pump performance. One of the pump connections was faulty. Had issue tightening. The thread was too tight so had problem sealing the joint.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great product, not amazing I was getting 3bar pressure but only 7litres flow from my first tap. We were not able to have a decent shower, as well as the issue of it going off if someone used a tap etc. Fitted this pump and it has definitely improved things. We can now have a reasonably enjoyable shower, however it will still go off if someone opens a tap somewhere else in the house! For the money and ease of install, yeah it's worth it. It just wasn't a "wow" difference.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good but not great my pressure was around one bar and yes this does work so long as you dont run more than two taps at once. At least my electric shower does not cut out from low flow. Noise however is an issue. Have had to re route rising main to locate pump under bath it is rather annoying. But it did the job and for a reasonable price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from What a difference!! I have been contemplating getting one of these for some time. We had a pressure of 5/6 ltrs min, which made using the shower interesting if someone turned on a tap !. Fitted this to the main stopcock input and now have power shower pressure at ALL outlets. The noise comments on previous reviews was concerning, but without foundation. Yes, you can hear it - bit it is not intrusive. Its early days in terms of reliability, but all the signs are good !! Wouldn't hesitate in recommending it !

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Waste of time In my opinion this pump is pointless. The reason being it works on the basis of flow rate, not pressure. I fitted this pump to the cold main at a customers house who had a combi boiler because they did not want their shower to be affected when someone else opened a tap. What actually happened is when one tap was open the machine would work really hard, then when 2 or 3 taps were open the pump would stop working. The reason for this is at the cold main the flow rate was 12L/min but at the 2 taps the flow rate was between 6-8L/min. If the pump was only supplying the combi the hot water only would be boosted which would make any mixer showers unbalanced because the cold supply would not be boosted if another tap was used while the shower is being used.
