Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best hollow wall fixing Tried many fixings into plasterboard and hollow walls but always come back to these, love the fact you can remove the fixing and then screw it back in makes radiator brackets a dream to remove, likewise when I fit shelving. well worth the extra money for a quality product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Brilliant easy to fit anchors I used these wall anchors to fix a shelf onto a dab and dot wall, after my kitchen had been extended. I wish plasterwork wasn’t as flimsy nowadays as I prefer solid plaster bonded onto the block work. So, thankfully, I bought these, knowing that they were too long for the depth of the dab and dot cavity, but I knew that if I inserted them in as far as they would fit, then gradually crimp back the metal umbrella shaped anchor at the back, using the setting tool (8499G), then the anchor tightens up and the total length is reduced so it then grips the skimmed plasterboard very firmly. This way, I could use stronger, heavier capacity fixings for the wall shelf. You have to make sure that the anchor is held straight whilst you use the setting tool to pull the screw forwards and tighten the anchor. If you don’t, you could end up with a bad fit at a wonky angle. I didn’t have any problems fitting these and the shelf is held very securely. I used a drill bit 1mm less than stated on the pack. I chose these for the load bearing capacity and also, I needed to be able to leave some of the screw protruding out of the wall, so that my rear shelf fixing brackets would then be able to hook over the protruding screws. I couldn’t have used the other types of plasterboard fixtures that require the screw to be fully tightened to actually hold the fixture in place as it wouldn’t have left any of the screw protruding for the shelf to hook on to. The thing that I found really handy about these anchors is that when they are secured, you can totally remove the screw, leaving the anchor firmly in place, so you can change the screws for others of the same thread size (M5) but different lengths. I changed them for some M5 machine screws with a countersunk head (7363J), as the heads are more shallow and neater, to fit my shelf closer to the wall. The shelf is very solid and it was a quick easy job.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Rawlplug hollow wall anchor tried the coarse screw type, they were no good for shelving, I used the setting tool which made this really easy and the shelves feel secure, and they haven't fallen down after loading them with books.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid as a Rock Great product, easy to install with the associated gun. I would suggest not using the 11mm drill as prescribed. 8mm is more than enough, you get a nice snug fit and less likely to pull through. Used these to hang a wall mounted fire, heavy duty clothing rails and various other wall mounted furniture. all solid and strong enough to hang off.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice strong plasterboard fix. I use these when I need a good strong fixing onto plasterboard and they certainly do the job. I would advise getting the proper setting tool, if you try and fit one without you can damage the plasterboard. I have used them for a handrail and hanging kitchen cupboards.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Do what they should Do the job, very good fixings provided you drill the correct size hole. Much quicker to use with the interset tool.
