White & Chrome Radiator Union Valve Tail 15mm 2 Pack is rated 3.5 out of 5 by 130.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Used with a combi boiler This product failed miserably for me. Please don't waste your time with these. I had to return one immediately after fitting, due to a tiny weep at the female thread side. I then returned to find the other side had failed in the same way. I cannot understand why, but i then exchanged and refitted. The valves visually appeared dry with no leaks for months but i was suffering from air locks in the central heating system. I just could not disperse the air. Further investigation found that the extension piece was weeping minutely. I detected this due to switching the system up to it's maximum temperature and watching them very closely. I'm sure there is a reviewer who has mentioned about these not being suitable for pressurised systems, due to the way the extendable piece self seals in some way or another. This information should be captured in the decription if it's true. It could be argued that these were fitted incorrectly, but the other five radiators fitted at the same time are leak free. Just take that extra time to determine the exact extension piece you need. Screwfix never sold them so I had to go to a competitor. Much cheaper and far more robust. Avoid hours and hours of wasted time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product, crazy name What a boon these are for replacing imperial radiators with smaller metric sizes(within 100mm length). Just remove the old rad, hang the new one and connect without any work to the existing pipework. The telescopic tube even aids installation as you can push it inside the radiator before hanging, then pull it out to connect to the valve. No sealant or ptfe tape needed as both ends have rubber o-ring seals. Like other reviewers, I was sceptical that the seal on the telescopic tube would perform, but no need, they have been in place for a few days now when the CH has been working full pelt in the cold snap, and no sign of leaks. They look smart as well. I did look initially at product 10954, but unlike these, they have no connections for the radiator valve. "Great product, crazy name" - they are all chrome, no white parts at all.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Telescopic tales. Old union style rad valves and a leaking radiator. No need to drain the whole system, just isolate and remove the old rad, and of course, the new one is shorter! Lifesavers.......really!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from LEAKS WHEN COOLING SEEMED THE SOLUTION TO MY PROBLEMS. WORKED A TREAT WHEN HOT. CAME DOWN THE FOLLOWING DAY TO FIND LARGE LEAK. HAD TO TAKE UP THE KITCHEN LINO THAT I'D ONLY JUST FITTED AND MOP OUT. GOING TO HAVE TO REPLACE THE OTHER 3 I FITTED AS I'VE NO CONFIDENCE IN THEM NOW DEFINITELY WOULDN'T RECOMMEND THEY CANT BE RELIED UPON

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Does the job Hard to get too excited about such a product, easy to fit, install and use. Decent value and will buy more as I upgrade the radiators in the house.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth it Made the job quick and easy, will buy again when the need arises. Ideal for use when swooping over rads that are of a different size.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Radiator compression valves I made mistake of ordering rads online and using pipe centre distances as listed on line, and installing pipe before rads arrived so as to stay ahead of plasterer....Needless to say some of distances as listed on line were not correct...These little gems saved the day....Used Fevnox as advised in previous review....System pressurised to 1.5 bar and no leaks...Time will tell if these tails are as good as they appear....
