Plastic Inspection Earth Pit is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 9.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Earth Rod Inspection Pit This inspection pit is well designed, robust and strong, it comes with stainless steel bolts to hold the cover down, its easy to fit with a recess giving a very neat finish.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It’s big! Decided to add an earth rod to my system and wanted the right cover to finish the job properly. This is a very well made piece of kit that will probably last forever, and has a safe working load of 5 tonnes, so it could be installed safely in driveways and paths. The main surprise is how big it is, about 300mm sq - I had been expecting something the size of a stopcock access! Sounds a bit expensive, but wen you get it you will see it’s worth it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Inspection Pit Good Quality Pit, which I've used for cable terminations on a driveway, rather than as an Earth Pit. The box is however not sealed and will allow water to enter, so consider your uses when purchasing or insulating cables inside.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Overkill If you're installing the average earth rod for a single house you could spend a lot less on a much smaller metal version but Screwfix didn't stock these at the time I was buying this. You could get them at an electrical merchant. However it is a sturdy pit with plenty of room inside and doesn't stand out too much when concreted in.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good inspection pit Good in spect ion pit. A bit larger than expected but this gives plenty of room for terminating your earth cable. The put lacks a point of entry in side for cable access but easy enough to drill one. Allen key screws for lid should be supplied with an Allen key but isn't. And as previous review says there should be a hole in the bottom of the pit as to allow drainage directly onto your earth rod which will help with getting better resistance and therefore better readings on external loop test (ZE)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Standard Inspection Pit This is a straightforward inspection pit to house the top of an earth rod. It is meant to be buried up to its top surface in soil or concrete and, despite the previous review, is NOT meant to be sealed at the base. There are no parts missing. The earth rod is hammered in either before or after this pit is fitted and one of the benefits of this inspection pit is that water that does enter through the lid will be directed into the ground around the earth rod, thereby improving the rod's contact with the surrounding ground. Therefore, this pit will not fill up with water and they are never meant to be sealed. They are to allow ease of access for testing, not weatherproofing. For the purpose intended, this is a good sized item that allows plenty of room to access and test the earth.
