MK Masterseal Plus 13A 2 Gang Switched Socket is rated 3.6 out of 5 by 11.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don’t buy this outdoor socket Bought this as expected it to be a premium reliable product. Within 18 months the plastic clips have broken due to the plastic becoming brittle and snapping during normal use. Contacted MK directly to use the advertised 20 year warranty and was told by customer services agent that the item broke due to customer abuse! Joke product and joke customer service as it’s clear from reviews here there is a reliability issue with this product that they wish to ignore. Don’t waste your money on this overpriced rubbish, MK’s products are obviously not the premium products they used to be. Avoid this junk!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Mk masters al Good quality as usual by MK. Rubber seal prevents moisture getting in when items plugged in. Easy to use and install. Knockouts/guides on back box.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Clips Snap off 4 of these were fitted about 2 years ago and 3 of them have now had the clips fall off. These were not often used and not mis-treated. One is in a shaded location so not exposed to sun but still failed. MK do provide a 20 year guarantee but requires the units to be sent back (photos or the bits that fell off - not acceptable). So given the cost of the electrician for 2 call-outs it's cheaper just to replace with another make.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Brittle clips I purchased this two years ago for outside Christmas lights and the odd use of garden tools. It has been rarely used yet one of the plastic securing clips has just broken due to brittleness. I read reviews of this failing at the time but put it down to user misuse or a bad batch. Thought I was buying the best, however the product has been let down by poor clip design and plastic quality. A friend bought a competitors cheaper version and it's still going strong. I should have trusted the other reviews.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not stood test of time I fitted one of these in 2010. Seemed very good quality as you would expect from MK and I also liked the glands on the lid cable entries which give a very good seal. The socket is fitted on a SW facing wall and in the winter of 2011 one of the screw retaining sleeves in the backplate which are brass came away (the plastic moulding around it had fractured). I repaired this with epoxy adhesive and all was well. However this year two more sleeves have come away. Luckilly I have a spare 2G backbox so I can replace it, but overall the plastic seems to have weathered badly and it doesn't look as tough. I think I'll move it slightly and give it some more protection behind a nearby garden seat. This may be extreme weathering as we do get the weather here in Scotland but I would have expected a bit more durability for the price.
