Mini Tube Bender is rated 1.9 out of 5 by 28.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Mini Tube Bender Needed to fit 6 new rads and replace some of the damaged 8mm and 10mm microbore feed pipework and this mini bender did the job with no problems so can't fault it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't bother! I don't usually write one star reviews as I feel people are usually bitter about something but this product deserves a 1 star review. Before purchasing I did the usual thing of reading the reviews and like a lot of "professional" type tools that use skill to use there were a few negative reviews saying about bad bends, no manuals and kinked pipes so I took these reviews with a pinch of salt thinking a lot of home-gamer/DIY'ers were struggling to use them, oh how wrong I was. I purchased this as I needed one for an odd-job. I don't usually do anything in microbore and stick to 15/22 but now was the time as it was a system mod that was already in 10mm. The first two test bends on spare pipe were "okay", they were a bit scored and flattened a little on the outside so I wouldn't call it customer presentable, I thought maybe it was me so I gave it a third go, then things went south. There was a massive score down the outside of the bend and the inside was all kinked up. I took the pipe out the benders to find the jaws had spread apart and there was a hefty gap, the centre retaining pin that is a little like a rivet had bent open meaning it had a tonne of play and was no longer serviceable. Returned for a refund. These may look the same as the rothenberger ones but they have aluminium, thin tail rivets as hinges. The rothenberger ones have steel pins that are pressed and ground. If you wanted to go to town you could grind all the casting defects back (there's lumps of excess metal in the bending channels) and then remove the pins and replace them with bolts, or just spend more and get a decent set.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst bender ever Lost our old faithful bender, picked this one up as only one in stock, very poor quality. Marks and creases the copper, OK for DIY but not for professionals. Rothenberger are the best

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poorly made The reason this bender has received such poor reviews is that it is incredibly badly made. It is so bad that Screwfix should really withdraw it from sale until they can improve the quality. I would have bought the Rothenberger at £7 more, but these are not stocked in any of the local stores, and I wanted to get on with the job in hand. The fault lies with the rivet which holds the two halves together: it is made of aluminium, and after a couple of bends, the flange pulls away. The two halves then don't align properly, and a gap appears between them. The result is poor bends with flat spots. Wanting to get on with things, I drilled out the rivet and replaced it with a 10mm bolt, done up quite tight. The result: perfectly formed bends. Of course once shouldn't have to re-make a brand new bit of kit, but the solution worked. So if anyone from Screwfix reads these reviews, get on to your suppliers. Properly sorted, this little tool would get 5* reviews - especially at the price.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great value For the price this pipe bender is great value, I have brought it for a specific job and it did what was expected of it neatly. It will lay around for sometime before it gets used again. I don't think it would suit a professional who would need it regularly as it might not be that reliable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing bender Very smooth and is easy to handle. Great for the value. No complaints.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Pay More for better As per other reviews this bender is poorly put together. The guides don’t align and would crimp the pipe. This was the only one in stock otherwise I would have got the other one. I’ve been able to straighten mine but still isn’t great.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Absolute rubbish - AVOID! As said by a previous reviewer, kinks and crushes bends - It is supposed to PREVENT this. Does not support pipe sides, flattens & ripples bend at best. Tried to put a 90 deg bend in 8mm gas fire restrictor pipe; just folded the bend. After annealing the pipe, simply flattened both the inside & outside of the bend. Bought this tool because the better quality ones were not available on the same day in any nearby branch searched. So doing simply adds expense by turning good raw material into scrap, having to return it, and Screwfix should discontinue selling such rubbish if they want to prevent their reputation fetching up in the gutter.
