Manrose Automatic Axial Pullcord Kitchen Fan is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 33.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Buy Cheap fan with 3 years warranty made in England say no more. Nice smooth running an easy installation. This replaces the old one which lasted 8 years.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good but could be better This a neat enough unit which we used to replace an old window mounted fan. 2 things that could be better 1. The 3 securing screws have to installed from the outside which might involve using a ladder or hanging out of a window. It could have been designed to be installed easily from the inside. 2. It has a ridiculously short pull cord Other that that, seems fine

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Electrician Review Seems a good strong fan, and excellent value. Only possible downer is that when used in a wall the projecting lip isn't deep so it would be awkward to attach flexible trunking.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good value After reading the reviews I have bought and fitted one of these. As mentioned before the screws are not quite long enough to install through a double glazed unit (by about 10mm) Don't panic they are just normal wood screws employed as a self tapper into plastic and you only need 3, so no special kits or special screws required.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Poor quality unit Purchased this extractor fan 9 months ago in this period the unit worked OK. The shutter opening mechanism then failed. When removed from the window it was found that the lever attached to the opening system had broken in several places. Also the main moulded component which holds the three mounting screws which securing the front fascia had cracked in many places. The unit has been used less than one hour per day since purchase so there has to be real doubts about the fundamental design of this product and the suitability of the plastic moulding material used.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works well, little noisy Bought to help alleviate a damp problem in the kitchen. The grill is a slow open release, that threw me when I first installed it, can take about a minute to full open, same to close. Needed to add longer screws to allow it to be fitted into a double glazed window.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Poor switch design I have first purchased this Manrose unit to replace one which had failed after years of use. Within a couple of years the pull switch failed, so I replaced that. Now, less than a year since the last purchase, the switch failed again and in the same way (goes on fine, but won't switch off). Clearly the time has come for me to try a different product. Shame, as in every other way this was a good product.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Noise level Seems OK, easy to fit, came pre-wired. Only problem for me is the noise. When fan is off and closed, the cover does not seal well enough and there is a constant noise, like the wind through a window not sealed. Not too loud but it is constant. Not bothered yet, but may not be able to put up with it. I am thinking of making an elasticated cover I can just pull off when I use the fan, and put on when not in use, Like a pair of elastic knickers!!!
