Mac Allister LSB2505K 2500W 80kg/hr Cutting Shredder 220-240V is rated 3.9 out of 5 by 29.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great little device Did the job. It’s a bit slow but perfect for a smaller garden. Made a good set of chipping for compost or shred bark for mulch.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Shredder Very good for the price and works well on most branches in the garden.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Feed, Chip, Blockage, Unblock, I used this shredder for about 2 hours, in which time I shredded about 10kg of cut branches. This was less than one bad full of chippings. The reason is that it continually gets clogged at the discharge end. The screw closure is quite secure, for safety, but it means it takes a good 3-4 minutes to open, unclog and close the shredder every time. Returned it later the same day.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good shredder Got this when I couldn't get a hire one. Shredded a massive hedge, took about 10 hours. Shredder still going strong. A bit slow to load, but probably same for all domestic shredders. Collection bag a bit naff though. Got 3 cubic meters of mulch - probably saved the cost of the shredder right there. Excellent value.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good Budget Machine Good value, however it does block quite easily. Has no problem with branches up to 45mm in diameter but does struggle with thin branches. Not bad value for the money.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good for domestic use If you want a garden shredder for occasional domestic use, I can recommend this one. I have used it a few times, so can't comment yet on its reliability. However, I offer the following tips based on my limited experience. 1. It's powerful, so always use gloves and goggles or you could get seriously injured. 2. It's great for long, straight branches up to an inch thick with thin bendy sub-branches and not much greenery. 3. It struggles with leaves, particularly holly. 4. The rotating blade can clog up with too many leaves or thin twigs. If that happens you need to open it and clear them right away. The outlet can also block up easily. 5. If it struggles, switch off immediately and investigate. 6. Don't leave the motor on for longer than necessary. Give it a rest every five minutes or so. 7. The collection bag you are given is useless. You need a solid box to collect the shavings. 8. When you have finished, make sure you open and clear the machine of any leaves, twigs and other debris. I think if you look after it and don't abuse it, it should last a while.
