HeliFix Crack Stitching Kit Grout 300mm x 1.04m is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 11.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wall Stitching Kit The kit contained all the items to complete the wall stitching, with clear and simple instructions. The installation was really easy and was completed within three hours. A tub of mortar is the only additional item not included in the kit to complete the job.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Complete package You can see that they thought of everything including the chisel, the mixer, splitting the grout so you don't have to use it all in one go. Really easy to understand and to use, a professional and simple solution for a common problem.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Don't waste money on full kit The rods and mortar are good but let down by poor applicator gun. More motar came out the back of the gun than ended in the wall. I would recommended using the rough neck mortar gun with it, works so much better.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Crack stitching Helifix kit Simple to use, quality bit of kit. An excellent raking bit is included. The quickest way to clean the gun out after use is to put the old mixing tub or a bucket under an outside tap. Then pull the gun apart under the running tap. All the excess grout drops into the bucket so very little mess. And no blocked drain. Take less than a minute to have the gun and nozzles spotless. Very impressed with this kit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Seems alright Handy kit, easy to use, too early to tell if it actually works. Note that the instructions in the box recommend finishing the job with Helifix Crackbond TE3 resin. That's not stocked by screwfix or any local builders merchants - special order only (or direct from Helifix).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Saved me hundereds I was selling my house and noticed that an air line crack in the plaster had gotten worse. With the possibility of a prospective surveyor marking this down as a negative and informing the buyer so he could potentially knock a grand of the price, I thought it would be best to have a go at repairing the problem. Upon chipping back the plaster, I was horrified to notice that the fascia of the house was new brick and the side was the old Victorian brick. Whichever builder had renovated the house some 15 years earlier, they certainly had made a pigs ear of the job, no ties, very little mortar and basically a bodge job. My initial shock was to phone for a specialist builder to quote me, he did and the cost made me suck air through my teeth faster than a jet engine preparing for take off. I then stumbled on this kit and thought I would have a go myself. I am glad I did, it was easy to task and the kit and work that I undertook resulted in a very strong tie in of the old and new brick. The supplied motor is rock hard when set and grips into the bar and joint to pull the gap together. The end result being a repair that would last at least another 100 years. After re-plastering the wall, the surveyor did inspect the house and it passed with flying colours. My only criticism about this kit is that the motor does not cover 10 meters. I managed only about 5. This could be due to the gaps on Victorian houses being bigger than new build. The price of the kits saved me in the region of £400, so I was very pleased. However I have noticed that a very similar kit can be found on the web for half the price of this Screwfix one. Overall a brilliant item but look out SF, you have price competition.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from What a let down We ordered the Helifix crack stitching kit which arrived promptly and everything was included. Read all the instructions to avoid any mishaps We cut out the three metre long slots required in the wall we had to repair, cleaned them out and squirted water into them as instructed, laid the kit out with our extra items that we thought we might need if we hit any snags. Filled the gun having mixed the cement and started pumping it into the slots. All was going well till the gun stopped working half way through the job. We had to frantically finish it with trowels, a float and our fingers before the cement went off and we could not help but make a right mess with the cement slopping all over the place in our haste and making do with improvised tools. I'm a great fan of Screwfix products and their first class standards of customer service but on this occasion it was a major disappointment and all over a second rate, faulty king size silicon gun which is absolutely necessary to do the job efficiently and tidily. You can do the job without the gun but as I'd paid good money for one I expected it to work. I'd have been better off if they told me to use a cake maker's icing bag.
