Forge Steel Sash Clamp 24" is rated 3.9 out of 5 by 30.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Sturdy and well made I ordered 2 of these clamps. They fall kind of in between the top quality record clamps and the aluminium section budget models, maybe closer to the records. They are very strong and well made but let down a bit by the jaws being too loose, causing them to kick back. This would spit out a couple of boards being clamped edge to edge for example. The fix is easy though, 2mm thick strips of brass will tighten up the fit between jaw and bar (or attach wedge shape wooden jaw liners with the appropriate angle to cancel the kick). If you want to bolt 2 clamps together end to end to make 1 longer clamp you will need to grind off the stop that keeps the moving jaw from falling off the end. All in all I'm happy with these clamps, especially for the price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Solid Clamp As people have said, they are packaged pretty oily, but thats a good thing. Just wipe them down when you get them and you will be fine. The peg to hold the non-screw slide is on a wire not a chain and can pop out when you are first using them due to the spring in the wire but this isn't a major issue. Solid build with no obviously fragile parts. Great so far.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Cheap & functional Others have complain about these being oily. They are. It takes about half an hour to really clean each clamp. Another complaint is that the jaws open up in a vee shape when pressure is applied. This is also true, caused me some problems at first, because it had the effect of skewing the mortise & tenon join I was working on, one side of the shoulder was flush, the other slightly open. I have cured this problem by using a brass shim strip between the back of the bar and the iron head and collar, taking away nearly all the play, while still allowing easy movement. The are not the best, but are half the price of the best! If you wanted to use them all day every day, I'd suggest Record tools

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Clamps I use these very often and am very happy. I have a nack for breaking clamps, especially cheap ones, but not the case here. A lot of reveiwers have complained about the grease on them, and this is true, so just make sure you have a cloth at hand when unpackaging them for the first time, a bit of a wipe and you good to go.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Product I bought this clamp recently to help hold my buffalo horn while bending it to make hiking sticks. It is ideal as a third hand when handling hot buffalo horn and has proved invaluable. It is strong enough to bend the horn and quick and easy to adjust.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from 24" clamps They do exactly what you expect of them, ideal for joining panels edge to edge

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not to bad, ok in fact. I bought 4 of the 24 inch clamps. I was running out of clamps when making several oak kitchen doors. Firstly the bad points. The jaws do not stay square especially the movable jaw. The location pin drops out. But I have this in more expensive ones. The tommy bar is short and of a small diameter. On the plus side. They are solid and rigid in use. The screw thread runs freely. Quick to adjust and the location pin is attached to the clamp by a wire. So when it falls out, which it will, no searching on your knees. For the price I have seen far worse.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Does the job I needed a clamp to press 2 boards together to glue, and this did the job well.
