Bosch GSB162-2RE 1500W Diamond Core Drill 240V is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth every penny... I haven't yet had any of the problems of the previous reviewer - I have only used the drill a dozen times in the last month but it just feels so good - you can feel the precise engineering. Control is very good, very smooth - just cuts and keeps cutting. I'm sad enough to rave about this drill to anyone who stands still long enough!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Only one I've ever sent back. First of all I am a big Bosch Fan and have bought a lot of their top of the range models over the years and that's been down to the quality of the tools which I'm still using now. I bought one of these to use with core cutters upto 6" for the kithen fan etc. These can apparently handle an 8" cutter and also double the power of it's biggest rival at the time of purchase. From the off the chuck didn't seem to tighten properly making cracking sounds. Had a bit of a scare when a 6" core cutter fell out of the chuck whilst on a platform, chuck seemed to be secure when I did it up? Another problem I had was it wouldn't go into gear changing from one to the other. I had to turn the chuck manually till I felt the gearbox engage. Finally I noticed the teeth for the chuck key were starting to crack around the chuck. That was it, it had to go back. First time I've ever had to send anything back to Bosch. It was collected quickly but took approx. a week + to get it back. I wasn't happy to find whoever had opened the box I sent it back in marked the case with their knife. That aside, Chuck was replaced and haven't noticed a problem with the gears. It does say you can change gear whilst the motor is turning but I don't like the sound of that. Hopefully my drill is OK now but I don't really use it often enough to give it a good testing. Despite the problems, the drill is very powerfull and easilly handled 22mm, 28mm, 4" and 6" core cutters. Drilling 6mm into concrete is like a hot knife through butter and 22mm masonary drill bit no problem either. Hopefully mine was an odd one but I do worry that the quality of Boschs blue professional range is slipping but that hasn't stopped me purchasing some of the 10.8V LI range for work. Richard
