Rated 4 out of 5 by bafgatedingle from Good jig,room for improvement Good concept, repeatability once set up is excellent however the build quality not what i expected from trend. Had to get replacement centre insert from Trend as middle hinge was 2mm shy for the hinge to fit. After fitting 5 oak doors both awls broke. One pulled out from handle, the other the head chipped badly. Support from Trend when contacted was excellent but shouldn't be necessary for a premium product.

Perfect Results It takes a little bit of time to set these up for the hinges you are using, so the jig favours the professional who is day in day out installing the same hinges. Having said that, the results are so good that it's really worth spending the time to set it up correctly. No additional tools are required. Everything comes with the kit. You don't need a tape measure, everything is set correctly for the standard two or three hinge door. The only thing you have to set is the hinge width and depth you are using. Oh and of course you need to set thickness on the router. But basically it's really simple and the results are perfect. One word of warning, the jig will not fit a jamb with the stop installed. If you are retrofitting new doors and hinges, you will have to remove the stop.
