Rothenberger Micro Soldering Iron and Torch Kit is rated 3.1 out of 5 by 9.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Little Iron Great soldering iron for small jobs. Heats quickly and good selection of tips. I probably wouldn't have bought this one over the manual ignition as it's £20 more but was not in stock. Reliability guesstimate as no used it much yet!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor I wonder if Rothenberger know that their name has been put on this rubbish. Refused to light after 1 days use. Nozzle got too hot and melted the insides. Terrible quality. Plastic feel. Will be returning.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Micro solderer Useless. What a complete let down this is. Literally soldered 3 wires and several lengths of heat shrink tube and would not go again. I'm a plumber and [wrongly] assumed that branded by Rothenberg it would be of a good standard and last forever - nope. Comes in a pathetic plastic box too! DO NOT BUY. No trouble from Screwfix getting a refund though.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great little iron / torch Heat shrink. Electrical solder. Torch. All work great on this little tool. Spark ignition, brilliant, means you can light without matches / lighter leaving other hand free. Stand, means you can put it down without burning anything. Don't forget to buy gas!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't bother After just one day's use, it refused to light up again, so took it back for to exchange for a new one. Now the second replacement one has done exactly the same and refused to start after just one day. It's got plenty of gas but you just click away for ever in the vain hope that it'll light up. I'm not going to bother with another one. I'll take it back tomorrow and get something more substantial. I must say that Screw fix have been very helpful in exchanges/ refunds so no reflection on them.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not the quality I expected Branded as Rothenburger I thought this might be a quality bit of kit, the identical iron is sold under other brand names (Draper, Silverline etc) for a lot less. It feels very flimsy & plastic to handle, mine lasted a day when the gas wouldn't switch off, had to let it just run out of gas! When refilled the gas wouldn't turn back on! Rtnd for a refund. Replaced with a Portalsol iron which only cost a little more but is in a different league in terms of quality, e.g. the the wire mesh catalyst that eventually gives up in gas irons is part of the tip not the iron so is easily replaced, and its made in Ireland not China.
