White & Chrome Radiator Union Valve Tail 15mm 2 Pack is rated 3.5 out of 5 by 125.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Does the job Hard to get too excited about such a product, easy to fit, install and use. Decent value and will buy more as I upgrade the radiators in the house.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth it Made the job quick and easy, will buy again when the need arises. Ideal for use when swooping over rads that are of a different size.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Radiator compression valves I made mistake of ordering rads online and using pipe centre distances as listed on line, and installing pipe before rads arrived so as to stay ahead of plasterer....Needless to say some of distances as listed on line were not correct...These little gems saved the day....Used Fevnox as advised in previous review....System pressurised to 1.5 bar and no leaks...Time will tell if these tails are as good as they appear....

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Great Solution Solved the problem of replacing a small discontinued 480mm size radiator.with a 400mm one. These gave a maximum of 40mm each side to fill the void. Effortless fitting with rubber seals to standard non TRV radiator valves. Had dabbled with extension pieces but they leaked, this didn't. Just to make sure recommend using with a sealant such as Fernox LS-X

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent to replace radiators Wanted to replace an old leaking Imperial radiator with a new metric one and these union valve tails worked a treat. Very easy to install overcoming the gap and also converting from 1/2 inch to 15mm. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from convert imperial to metric rad These are ideal if fitting a metric radiator in the place of an existing imperial sized one. They have the older style large nuts which fit older valves, so just turn off both valves crack the nut on one side of the radiator, catch the water that comes out and swap the radiator without draining the system. I had one small leak because the new rad had a sllightly different angle and this stressed the joint.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Leaky Valves These valves would work fine in a vented (Low pressure system) but there can be problems with an unvented combi system. I had fitted one about a year ago in a combi boiler system and all was fine until recently when the boiler started to over pressure and the tail started to leak. It looks like the seal on the sliding part of these valves is weaker than a conventional joint and the excessive pressure proved to be too much. It's not a fault with the valve but it is a pain when it happens and its worth taking into account when you fit these valves. The solution (as has been said in another review a while ago) is to seal the valve on the inside with a silicon sealer (fernox is a good make) before you fit it and then after you fit the tail leave the rad dry for a hour or so while the silicon goes off. This should give a good joint which will hold pressure. Its a bit more messing around but still nothing like as time consuming as changing the pipework to the radiator.
