Insert Nuts Type D M6 x 13mm 50 Pack is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 37.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from M6 Insert Nuts I used this to make a fine adjustment to a router table fence using threaded rod and an insert nut in the back of the fence. Does exactly what I wanted it to do! It would be helpful to say what size hole needs to be drilled to take the nut - I used a 7mm bit, which worked fine in MDF - an 8mm hole may be needed in hard woods. Try on a piece of scrap first.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from insert nuts An excellent and tidy solution to making a threaded connection in wood. Tip, countersink the hole before fixing the insert nut into place.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from good, solid. good product, they do what they are supposed to. Just don't screw them in or the head falls off.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from perfect for garden seat slats I needed to replace the hardwood slats in 3 metal framed chairs, so needed 72 of these. The slats were 17mm english oak and experimentation showed I needed a 9mm hole. I used a 6mm socket and ratchet to screw them in. The thread is angled to screw, not hammer. Using a rachet was easier to apply the driving force rather than use a hex key. The 6mm hex is sloppy but a 1/4" is too big. With a smaller pilot hole (8.5mm) the effort was more and rounded the hex head (but oak is a hard wood!). in softer wood the inserts could end up flush, in oak they stayed very slightly proud, but not an issue for my needs. When the M6 bolts were fitted with a torqued driver all of the inserts stayed tight and didn't pull out. Recommended.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Insert Nuts Type D M6 x 13mm I tried these a year ago and now I use them all the time when I do prototype pieces. You can also cut a small slot in the top as well. All types of uses in wood, fibreglass and with care metal. Highly recommended. Best use is a self built router table. useful in gypsum walls

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Rubbish Decided to buy these over another brand I use mainly because I was buying a few other bits from screwfix.. I used an 8mm drill bit to drill the hole for the nut as always done with other nuts and as I was tightening it up they split it happened 3 times leaving me struggling to get the nut out.. poor quality in my opinion and I'll be going back to get the other branded nuts that should of done in the first place lesson learned! Quality over quantity

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor Quality The metal is very weak, when screwing the inserts into an 8mm predrilled hole the tops ring off quite easily.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Insert Nuts problem. M6 x 13mm I had to purchase 6 packets to get 2 packets that were OK. The useless ones must have come from a bad batch, as the thread was skewed so the bolt only went in a few millimeters, then stuck. Out of 50 in a pack, between 3-5 were useful. The funny thing was, the ones in the packet that were OK had a better quality (thicker) plastic bag! (coincidence?) The ones that were OK are well worth the money though, just a shame I had to go back (3 times!) to swap (and then replace) the replacement ones back. I have used these before and never had this problem, just hope they have got rid of the badly made ones I returned .
