Hitachi M12VE/J6 2000W Router 230V is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 20.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Fault prone Bought over 18 months ago now. internal thread on depth stop lock broke immediately but screwfix replaced. Now after just 4 kitchen worktops the speed controller has gone loose and ceases to function

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Speed controller unreliable Basically a good router but a couple of minuses to know about: 1) The speed controller on this model often malfunctions and causes cut-outs. Mine did after only an hour of use. On searching the net, I found a whole load of other people complaining about this problem with this model all the way back to 2014 and beyond. Hitachi have done NOTHING about it. (I actually managed to fix mine myself because it turned out to be a mechanical problem with the seating of the knob over the electronic component underneath it. I had to take the router apart to do it though and I should NOT have to do this). 2) It's the most clumsy, ham-fisted, non-ergonomic machine I have ever used. Other than that, it does its job well.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid, powerfull I bought this specifically to cut 40mm solid oak kitchen counters. The machine certainly has enough power to do the job, is very well built and heavy, which helps keep it in place. When powering up, there is a noticeable torque kick, just to remind you that this machine will break your wrist if you don't respect it. I would point to one design fault; the electronic speed control wheel is loose, which means that vibration from the cutting changes the speed mid-cut. Apart from this, the router is as good as machines at twice the price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good router For those having trouble with the collet and nut. Please be aware that the collet needs to be snapped into the nut, so that they are 'together' as one unit. If you don't do this, then the cutter and collet will indeed become stuck in the machine. They need to be connected for the nut to release the collet. Usually only one nut is supplied and the two, 1/4 and 1/2" collets. Each time you change collets, you need to click or snap the collet into the retaining nut. Don't do this and you will run into the stuck cutter problem. To remove the cutter, slacken the nut, but keep turning it. It will become tight again. Keep going again with the spanner. It's this second slackening which pulls the collet and the cutter from the machine shaft. This is not a fault with the machine, but a common mistake made by people new to these types of routers.
