Fischer High Performance Universal Plugs UX8 4.5-6 x 50mm 100 Pack is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 46.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Too soft. They are quite soft material, I found the especially when trying to get a tight grip the screw thread just slips through the plug even after it all bunched up. The plug ends up getting chewed up. The screw always feels spongy as soon as you go to tighten further it shreds the plug.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great plugs but expensive These are great plugs, used on a solid brick wall to fit a metal hand rail. The plugs which came with the rail spun in the hole and were too short, these are expensive but you can see the difference to the cheap ones.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My go-to wall plug I started using these plugs about 5 years ago and have rarely used alternatives since. You are better using single thread screws or non-turbo twin threads rather than the "turbo" sort, since the turbos cut through the plastic and don't pull in the collapsible end quite as well. Haven't had a plug fail on me yet - the few weak fastenings have been down to wall quality, not the plugs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hold me tight Bought for a job needing extremely secure hold into plasterboard, with no second chances. Did the job superbly. Well worth the extra cost when you think about your time and cost re-doing a fixture that has come away, or where there's no second chance. But if cost is an issue for you, save these for your high performance applications and stick to cheapies where strength and reliability aren't so important.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tight as ducks are. Sold! The idea behind this product is that in a hole, cavity or gap the screwing will pull the end of this plug toward the beginning and cause it to 'knot up' behind the entrance of the hole. This is actually quite a good idea and does indeed perform well in more blocked-in areas I couldn't feasibly use a cavity interset type of fixing. However, with an 8mm hole drilled by an Erbauer tile drill in ceramic tile, these things simply don't go in. They go in partially, but no amount of rubber malletting will get them much further with any confidence or safety for the tile. Each and every one I have fitted in such holes in such a substrate I have had to trim with a stanley knife, mainly to get rid of the aerodynamic 'flights' along the beginning area. In some cases I'd also trim the flange after it was fully home, to give a flush fit. Other than tile drilled holes, they're ideal. I suspect that these are the ones to blame rather than the tile drill bit, and that these have a slightly fictional idea of their own size - an easy thing to do, I'm sure we all agree.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Overall good product BUT. Fitting some heavy units in a bathroom. So, I do not trust attaching to tiles and plasrboard, but drill through clearance to solid walls and use long screws. I used 5mm x 75 lg. screws. The only issue I had with these is that the screws do not engage thread wise in the plug for the first half an inch. This is probably done to attach to plasterboard and tiles so the plug doesn't expand and burst and crack the tiles. But mushrooms out pulling the item to the wall.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Expensive but top quality Probably the best all round wall plugs with great holding power. there are much cheaper ones but worth the extra in this case.
