Erbauer ERB690CSW 185mm Plunge Saw 240V is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 25.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Mixed thoughts? Ok so brought this saw back in December 2016. Only as I liked the idea of having a plunge saw for making perfect straight cuts. Found it to be great at first and then after a few worktop cuts the blade was starting to blunt. No biggie just change blade couldnt find one in the screwfix catalog (might be now but not then). So as I learned what you could do with these saw I used it for more cutting out out sinks and hobs and the floorboards. I was impressed! Now comes the crunch. The motor has over heaten and the shaft has warped. You can not get spar parts anywhere!!!! Which for me something that is trade rated is a massive let down! This makes this item a throw away tool! I'm going to try the 2 year warranty out but so far not much joy in who to contact. So for me pros great value simple to use and comes with everything to get you going. Cons No bag or box for saw (but one for the rails) Blades life is quite short Spares are none existent The rails are short 2x700 where other trade brands come with 1.4 lengths. So I would recommend to a diy person doing their own kitchen then the occasional use after that. As for a trade person unless it's your on a very very tight budget I would say save your cash for one of the more known trade names makita etc.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent value for money Was looking at a new circular saw and came across this, decided to give it a go and I can't believe the quality for such a low price. Cuts well and the soft start and speed control work great. Only gripe is that you don't get a bag or case for the saw, and I can't buy extra guide rails to match.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from average saw for the money it does the job. doesn't give the cleanest of cuts, leaves burn marks. maybe need to invest in better blade. Would like to see longer tracks as when you join the 700mm tracks doesn't run very smooth over join.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good saw It is actually a really good track saw with some very useful features, anti kick back and in my opinion it glides better than either DeWalt or Makita although it's no competition to the festool it is indeed a good saw for the price.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not very precise Wish I had paid more for a better plunge saw. I can't get a straight cut for more than about 50cm

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent So far Bought this plunge saw a few weeks ago and used it several times on my house renovation and so far it's very good and is well worth the money, the saw, clamps and rails etc make this a good kit and package to have but for me the only thing missing is a storage case, but cant fault the actual plunge saw itself so far

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Erbauer comes up trumps again. Being a kitchen fitter of bespoke kitchens I could ideally do with a table saw but due to the size of my vehicle it is not practical so instead. Have opted for a plunge saw , after reading many reviews I opted for this model as it already had the clamps and 2 x 700mm rails with it , I had looked at the Triton but by the time you add the clamps and rails etc it can become an expensive buy. Not having used a plunge saw before it is taking some getting used to but have now found a method of cutting down small rips etc . Though a bit more time consuming than a table saw it does what I want it to do. The underside of the cut is very good so you would be better cutting with the good face down the top of the cut is slightly chipped but acceptable , a word of warning though before you do your first pass with the blade make sure that the splinter guide is sat in the correct position on the under side of the track as mine was slightly forward of the groove and now that I have passed the saw along the rail the splinter guide has moved back a little into the track so does no longer give me a true visual guide as to where the cut will be made , I have purchased a 3 meter length of self adhesive splinter guard suitable for the Makita rail and still need to change on my track , fortunately only one of the two tracks has been affected so will try to just replace one of the splinter guides . All in all I am fairly pleased with my purchase and its ease of use didn't want to spend silly money on something that I may not use very often I haven't gone for the cheapest and I also haven't gone for the most expensive but seems to be a middle of the range model which should do what you want it to do. It would be nice to be able to purchase a longer length of track than the supplied track but according to other users the Makita track will also be suitable so there may be another option.
