BG 13A 2G RCD Switched Socket is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 130.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Real value for money Product was well packaged and instructions were good. Easy to install and half the price of other leading makes. The closure clip is a little tight to shut. Overall a very good design.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Water seal is ineffective I purchased this product as it still appeared to be good value though circa 25% dearer than a few years ago. Unfortunately the water seal on this is ineffective. I found water running out of the socket. I replaced the first faulty one with another and experienced the same problem. Screwfix refunded it as usual. I upgraded to the MK Masterseal, which is much more expensive but does actually work. I suggest you pay the extra price for peace of mind and safety.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good value Not installed yet due to weather but impressed with look, functionality and apparent ease of fitting. Good to have RCDs built in as I can now make use of spare spur

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good price - OK quality So this is not the same quality as say a MK one but it is a lot cheaper so really can't complain. If fitting outside you will also need the correct gland to fit your cable so don't forgot to order them at the same time. There is a confusing statement on the front of the plug I took a picture as was going to add to this review but screwfix do not have a option to add photos to review - but on the front of the socket the statement says "Red on, Black off - Test before use if red stays visible THEN DO NOT USE" So it has to show red to be on but do not use if it shows red. Anyway the plug is good value and ok quality.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid value Seems to be a very sturdy unit.. I would have preferred it to have been an active- latched unit, hence only 3 stars for features etc., but still excellent value for the money.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pro's and Con's PRo's OK ....Just installed said unit in garden. 1) looks good. 2) easy to install. 3) built with study plastic 4) hinged door stays open 5) rcb works ok 6) good value for money 7) knock out cable / conduit ports ok 8) sealed screw entry gromits 9) box lid lockable Con's 1) no led status light as stated on box...just plastic indication red pop up square 2) lid very hard to lock with two plastic catches.....worried i would break them 3) lid not see through as stated on box 4) could not fit an eletrical 240v cable extension reel that happened to also have a bulky rcb fitted to it.... it was too tall for the surounding box whichh caused poor plugging in of reel / plug rcb end causing intermitant supply. only wanted so that i could use lawn mower and hoover for the car.....and to stop trailing power leads in the house. ordinary 13amp plugs are ok....otherwise using existing extension reels with rcb fitted at plug end is hit and miss That said it seems to be a good proiduct

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good Value....but... Good value product, well made and robust..BUT it is not entirely weatherproof and therefore not really suitable for outside use, notwithstanding its IP rating. I installed this according to the supplied instructions and in fact used extra sealing compound to provide better weatherproofing and two days later it failed. On opening the unit it had a couple of mm of rainwater in the bottom (despite drilling a drain hole as per the instructions) and was shorting out so not allowing the rcd's to reset. Removed it from its outside location and re sited it inside a shed where after drying out it has performed flawlessly ever since. So be aware!!!
